Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt, is all set for a September 11 release, and will be the master filmmaker’s fastest movie till date. Alia took to the social media to share the motion poster of the film, announcing that the first look will be out on Wednesday. The film went on the floors in the last week of December and is being made and released in record time in just over nine months from the day the shooting commenced. Bhansali had made the announcement for the film in the month of October 2019.

“Bhansali usually takes a long time to complete his films, a year plus maybe sometimes two. His film Devdas took a long time in the making due to several issues, but this time, Bhansali has planned a lot of things meticulously because he wants to make and release the film this year after Inshallah with Salman did not work out. Not one to ever fight with or offend any of his actors, Bhansali decided to come in September when the film will have a solo release,” says our source.

Bhansali, in a career span of 25 years, starting with his first release Khamoshi-The Musical in 1996, has only nine releases thus far. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, Devdas in 2002, Black in 2005, Saawariya in 2007, Guzaarish in 2010, Ram Leela in 2013, Bajirao Mastani in 2015 and Padmaavat in 2018.
