“I used to be working and shooting and by the time I would reach home, I would be half asleep and I was late to the party. I started being a part of conversations where people would say, ‘I want to make this film and I want to make it like Narcos!’ Or ‘we can do a show like Narcos, or ‘that character like in Narcos’. Those conversations were going out of hand I couldn’t be that Joey in that room not knowing anything about Narcos and I started watching it and realised what a global phenomenon this show is,” Alia said on the sidelines of an interaction she was hosting with the cast and crew of Narcos: Mexico with showrunner Eric Newman and actors Michael Peña and Diego Luna this week.
Alia along with director Shakun Batra quizzed the Narcos team on their experiences of making the show thus far. In fact, Eric Newman even confessed to Alia that he wanted to make Narcos into a feature film 20 years ago, and right now that film has over 40 hours of content on the web and still going strong.
