Fans reacted severely to his unsavoury comment but Sushant was humility personified in his responses.

Sushant's performance in the film has been unanimously lauded.

Mumbai:  Rajat Kapoor, a critic's darling courtesy films like 'Aankhon Dekhi', 'Mithya', and 'Kapoor & Sons', recently came in for a lot of flak after posting an unsavoury comment on actor Sushant Singh Rajput on his Twitter feed.

Rajat had nonchalantly opined that Dhoni looks better than Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the ace cricketer in his biopic, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'.

Sushant, who's known to be amongst the most humble of actors, responded politely, saying he tried to compensate his 'inadequacies' as a looker with his acting chops. He sarcastically also prompted Rajat to watch the films if he's interested in that.

Fans and admirers, however, did not take to the comment kindly and severely slammed the director-actor.

Rajat tried to clarify that he was not judging the film or Sushant's acting abilities, but never backtracked on his comment, defending his right to an opinion, vehemently.

One female fan even had a slightly milder yet defensive take on the comment as well.

Rajat then tried to play the victim, having faced severe backlash, explicitly abusive and critical in equal measure.

Sushant, humility personified as ever, told the 'Bheja Fry' actor that they weren't his fans and he didn't have too many. He also told him that Rajat was impressive in the acclaimed 'Kapoor & Sons'.

'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', still running to packed houses, has already grossed over 100 crores and elevated Sushant high up the radar. But the actor seems to be in no mood to shed his down-to-earth personality.

Brownie points galore, we say!
