Shraddha Kapoor roped in to play Dawood Ibrahim's sister in biopic

The project suffered a setback when Sonakshi walked out of the film citing date issues.

Mumbai: Shraddha Kapoor has been receiving a lot of praise and appreciation for her performance in 'Baaghi', which released on April 29. The actress, who recently wrapped up 'Rock On 2!' and is currently shooting for ‘Ok Jaanu’, has signed her next project.

The actress has replaced Sonakshi Sinha in Apoorva Lakhia’s ‘Hasina’, the proposed biopic on the life of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar. The project suffered a setback when Sonakshi walked out of the film citing date issues.

Shraddha, who has featured in romantic roles in ‘Baaghi’, ‘Ek Villain’ and ‘Aashiqui 2’, will be essaying her first grey character. The role of Haseena Parkar would require Shraddha to age from 20 to 60.

Shraddha's upcoming film 'OK Jaanu' opposite Aditya Roy Kapur is a remake of the Tamil super hit 'OK Kanmani'. The original, which was directed by Mani Ratnam, featured Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in lead roles.
