Dulquer Salmaan to make Bollywood debut in a film alongside Irrfan Khan

The south hearththrob will feature in the film, touted to be a road movie, alongside internet sensation Mithila Palkar.

Mumbai: Dulquer Salmaan has a commendable fan following across India for a South actor who’s never appeared in a Bollywood movie. However, the young heartthrob seems to be in the mood to rectify that bit.

If the latest reports are to believed, the Malayalam sensation is all set to make his Bollywood debut in a film, alongside none other than Irrfan Khan and internet sensation Mithila Palkar.

The star, son of veteran Mollywood superstar Mammootty, has already established himself as a commendable actor, having starred in such critical and commercial successes as ‘Bangalore Days,’ ‘Charlie’ and ‘OK Kanmani’.

Dulquer had even played a bouncer based out of Bombay in Rajeev Ravi’s ‘Kammattipaadam,’ having impressed all and sundry with his impeccable Mumbai diction.

The film, to be produced by Ronnie Screwwala and helmed by debutante Akarsh Khurana, is touted to be road movie.

Akarsh has co-writen the film, which had intitally been offered to Abhishek Bachchan, along with Hussain Dalal.

"It's a light-hearted comedy that will see Dulquer and Irrfan as friends on a road trip. The film rolls by the month end in Kerala," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.

Dulquer, whose last release was Amal Neerad’s ‘Comrade In America,’ is currently gearing up for the release of Bejoy Nambiar’s Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, ‘Solo’.
