Actor Ranbir Kapoor is known to be a mild-mannered man, liked by most people in the industry. Unlike his father Rishi Kapoor who was in news when he lashed out at Anurag Basu publicly for the failure of Jagga Jasoos.

And though Rishi publicly lashed out at filmmaker Anurag Basu for delaying Jagga Jasoos, and for the film’s failure, Ranbir says that the incident hasn’t affected his relationship with the filmmaker.

“Dada (Anurag Basu) and I are closer than friends. Of course, I felt bad when my father lashed out at dada and Pritam, and I apologised to them,” he says.

Basu and Kapoor have collaborated twice so far. Their first film together, Barfi, was a hit; but their second outing, Jagga Jasoos, failed to make a mark at the box office.

“My father spoke as a father, and they understood my sentiments. My relationships with dada and Pritam will never change. I just love them to death,” the actor adds. Ranbir, who is currently basking in the success of Sanju, aspires to get behind the camera someday. Talking about his plans, he says, “Direction is certainly on my mind. I don’t have a story right now, but once I get an idea I will start working on it,” he says.
