Mumbai: Karan Johar, a self-proclaimed chronic liar, did not spare anyone on the show ‘#NoFilterNeha’ which has skyrocketed to popularity right after the first podcast with KJo went live. Neha Dhupia, former Miss India and host for the show, did not have to persuade Karan for answers to her otherwise tricky questions. The ‘Kapoor & sons’ producer was in mood to say it all!
Johar, although dodged a couple of questions for the fear of ‘losing work’, was brutally honest with his responses. So when the ‘Julie’ star asked him who, in his opinion, is Miss Botox of Indian film industry, Johar unequivocally took Rakhi Sawant’s name. The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ director asserted that Rakhi’s name is easier to take since ‘she does not matter to anyone of us’ and her face has become ‘all six series of Rocky’.
“Rakhi Sawant’s name is always easier to mention because she doesn’t matter to any of us…Rakhi has become Rocky (American sports drama film) now…she has become like all the six series of Rocky…,” mocked the producer-director.
Karan, who was subjected to vehement criticism by Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Shivsena (MNS) after he spoke against the recent ban on Pakistani artists working in India, did not stop at calling her Rocky. On the show, which is now available on American digital distributor ‘Saavn’, Johar can be heard saying Rakhi’s face was once ‘bearable’ but has now reduced to ‘a caricature of her own caricature’.
“…what happened to that face she used to be bearable, she has become a caricature of her caricature…she was already a caricature like you can imagine what she has become…I had her on my show in season 1 or 2 and she was kind of fun when she said ‘jo bhagwan nahin deta who doctor de deta hain…’ but I think she has been through an entire institute,” jested Karan Johar.
While Rakhi took home the Miss Botox title, Karan gave the Mr. Botox title to Aditya Chopra who was once fat but had ‘come back with a glow’. Karan also spoke about his own battle with obesity and recalled that during his growing up years he was low on self-esteem and had resorted to self body shaming.
However, K Jo confessed to his love and respect for Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan who are like family to him.
After Uri terror attacks, Johar’s upcoming release ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, which has Pakistani actor Fawad Khan playing a crucial role in it, has landed in controversy after MNS threatened that they wouldn’t let the film release. If rumours are to be believed, Karan Johar led Dharma Productions will be using Saif Ali Khan’s face in place of Fawad’s.
