Quite the star today — especially after the success of Baaghi 2 — Tiger Shroff is all set to go back to college. The actor, who has been playing a typical hero in all his films so far, is quite thrilled to do Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, which he claims will be a refreshing change for him.

Says Tiger, “I’m blessed to get this chance to work with Dharma Productions, and of course there are a lot of expectations with this film, especially since the first film was so well accepted. I’m going to be working with two new girls, and I’m looking forward to the fresh energies.”

Karan had originally directed the first Student of the Year, which marked the big screen debuts of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The sequel is, however, being directed by Punit Malhotra.

Tiger adds that this is going to be a whole different experience for him. “It’s going to be a complete contrast to what I was in Baaghi 2. So it’s a refreshing change for me; I’ve never done something like this. I’ve been playing a stereotypical hero for a while — an action hero — so this is a nice break for me.”

The movie went on floors on April 9 in Dehradun. The official handle announced the kickoff and said, “STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 – DAY #1 on set. Today, director @punitdmalhotra and his team begin their journey at Saint Teresa’s with @iTIGERSHROFF & the girls (sic).”

The shooting is taking place in the same school — St Teresa’s — which was also the location of the last film.
