It’s official. Aamir Khan has opted out of Salute, a biopic based on the life of astronaut Rakesh Sharma, produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and directed by Mahesh Mathai. The perfectionist actor with a keen script-sense has conveyed his decision to the makers.

“Aamir did not like the way the script finally shaped up. And while he’s very fond of Siddharth, Aamir is not someone who will do a film if he’s not 100 per cent convinced of it,” a source informed reportedly.

Interestingly, the actor has never spoken about the film, maintaining that the only film he is currently doing is Thugs of Hindostan. The source adds, “Till he is not certain of doing a film, he will never comment on it. It now remains to be seen who will step into Aamir’s shoes.”

Meanwhile, the buzz is that the star is planning something very big for his production house and wants to focus completely on it.
