Mumbai: On November 6, Sunday, the much awaited show, 'Koffee with Karan' finally aired on Indian television with Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt as the first guests of the show's very first episode.

The fact that season 5 of Karan's show is full of spicy gossips and unknown facts is already pretty known to everyone, thanks to the sneak peaks that were released ahead of the show.

However, fans were not exactly ready for what unfolded on the couch between Shah Rukh, Alia and Karan. The secrets and inside dope kept pouring throughout the show while audiences munched on their popcorn and evening snacks with their eyes glued to their TV screens.

During the chat, Karan, as usual, tried to get a peak inside Alia's personal life and asked her who she was dating. The actress was quick to reply that she was happily single and not in the zone to get committed.

However, the filmmaker didn't stop there and quizzed her if she ever dated any of her co-stars, including Varun and Sidharth. While Alia quickly declined having dated Varun, a hesitation and soft smiled lingered on her face before she discarded Sidharth's name as well. Alia also expressed how she likes to keep things private and is secretive by nature because speaking about personal life gets everyone's attention off the work she does, which isn't good. At this point, her 'Dear Zindagi' co-star Shah Rukh Khan nodded and agreed with the actress, by saying, “I truly believe your personal life is your personal life, however public you are. I think it’s more enjoyable if there are certain moments that you can go back home to, or your friends to, or in which ever way it’s your personal life. It’s kind of nice, and especially now with you having access to the world and the world having so much access to you. So those 20 minutes, 1 hour or 5 hours of personal life I think very seriously does become more special now.”

Then Karan asked Shah Rukh his take on Alia's vibe as the two worked alongside each other in Gauri Shinde's upcoming film 'Dear Zindagi', to which the actor said, "Very honest, not just because she is here but when I worked with her dad, for me and I think I said this to her as well, it was a great learning experience because he has got this sub-textual way of working. It was wonderful working with him. It was one of my finest experiences as an actor, as a human being to just work with him, and I learned a lot from him. When I started working with Alia, I genuinely feel she is one of the finest actors of our generation. This isn’t about this generation actually, but she is just a fine actor. She is really really fine. As a matter of fact.., because he is old and he will understand and he’d be very proud, this learning experience with Alia was more than what I did with you, Bhatt sahab."

Karan applauded Alia by saying, “It’s a huge compliment coming from Shah Rukh." However, Shah Rukh sweetly said that it wasn't a compliment as he genuinely said it as an actor to another actor.

Moving on, Karan quizzed Alia if she, like any other actress, was dazzled by Shah Rukh Khan. "It always happens that when you know, you have a slightly older sexy man, there is a certain zone of attraction. Were you attracted to Shah Rukh?" Karan asked.

Before Alia could answer, Shah Rukh, in his usual tone, joked, "Oh yeah, yeah, she was, of course. Absolutely! I had to keep her off me."

Laughing on his answer, Karan pulled Alia's leg for her earlier comment by asking, "Because you weren’t dating Sidharth, Varun or anyone else, what was your feeling towards Shah Rukh?"

Trying to take control of the situation, Alia quickly said, "Even if I was dating anybody, it’s okay to fine other men attractive. Especially if the man is Shah Rukh. Since I’ve known him, I have always loved him."

"I know. You have been crushing over him since the beginning," Karan recalled. "In the biggest way," came Alia's reply.

When asked how it felt to be facing the camera with Shah Rukh, her biggest crush, Alia said, "It felt surreal. Even this, sitting on a couch with him. You know, I’ve watched Koffee with Karan. I have seen him nail it at the rapid fire and today I am sitting here, competing against him or sitting and talking and hearing him say these great things about me. It’s really surreal.

"Even on the first day when we were on the set (Dear Zindagi), we were shooting that Kabbadi scene on the beach. He came on set and I had to like, you know, get away with it because we had a lot of dialogues in the film. We would take long long takes in the film. So we did one-two takes and I thought I was doing very well until Gauri came and said, ‘just forget that he is Shah Rukh Khan.’ I was like, how can you forget? When I am acting with him I may act like I don’t know him but that admiration, that kind of dazzle was there. So I had to forget about that. But then we were fine, I think we had a great time."

Joining in, SRK revealed how Alia used to by heart his lines as well. "I need to tell you this. We used to do scenes with a lot of lines in the film and I am really good with lines but she is even better. So at first, I used to work on the lines but then I realized I have someone who is better than me at lines so why work so hard. And she knew my lines, too. So I used to be like, ‘Woh kya tha? Agli line bolo.’ She remembers the entire script. So I was really happy that there was someone so that I don’t have to turn around or take out the paper or remember the lines."

"Couple of times, I was even disappointed when she didn’t remember my lines. I was like, ‘Go and learn them and come back yaar. Don’t come on sets without learning my lines.'” SRK added.
