Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is all set for his forthcoming radio show Calling Karan Season 2, will be chatting with a lot of people and giving them advice on love, heartache and heartbreaks. And while the chatty host may seem like he has the answers to every kind of problem, Karan confesses that he is actually plagued by his own insecurities.

The multi-talented director who has never shied away from showing true emotions and love through his actors in all his films says that in real life, he has a low self-esteem whenever it comes to relationships.

“I am not somebody who is full of self-love. I have a lot of self-doubt and apprehensions about myself. And because of my low self-esteem issues, I tend to give too much of myself and invariably land up in one-sided relationships,” says Karan.

He adds, “I think people who love themselves too much are incapable of extreme love. Love is a selfless emotion, and cannot come with a baggage of self-love.”
When asked whether he gives filmy advice to the callers of his radio show while addressing their issues, he replies, “No...no...what we show in the movies is ridiculous. You cannot possibly ruin people’s lives by giving them those kinds of situations and advice. That is only meant for the PVR (theatre) experience. When you give people legitimate advice, you have to get into the heart of the situation, therefore, I take every call that comes on this show very seriously.”
