He is not exactly known for taking up controversial subjects in his films. But if all goes well, actor Ajay Devgn might soon be starring in the most controversial role of his career yet.

Apparently, writer Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame has offered Ajay a film set during the turbulent times following the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.

Titled Kabir, the film could possibly give Ajay a chance to play a contentious role. The film, which is set to be directed by Vijayendra himself, will reportedly be produced by the Chief of the Censor Board, Pahlaj Nihalani, who has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons.

Says a source, “It is not a pro-government film. Kabir takes a look at the turmoil faced by the country after the demolition of Babri Masjid and one man’s heroic attempt to stand up to the violence that followed.”
