Kriti Sanon

She towers over others with her irrepressible zest for life. Kriti Sanon is literally on cloud nine after two films Heropanti and Dilwale. The tall model turned actor who made a transition from engineering to acting, spoke to us in a freewheeling interview on her visit to Bengaluru.

Coming from a non-filmi background, she couldn’t have asked for more as she set foot in the tinsel world and got instant recognition. Kriti is now preparing for her next film and spills the beans about her project, “I will be starting shooting for Raabta by the end of March. I’m playing the lead role opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and the film is directed by Dinesh Vijan of Badlapur fame.  It’s a beautiful script and I fell in love with it, the moment I heard it. It’s about dreams and destiny and I’m preparing hard for it.  I’m learning swimming, horse riding, doing workshops and reading,” she shares.

Kriti was in Bengaluru last month for a Celebrity Cricket League party with the Mumbai Heroes team and was in Bengaluru on Saturday for the launch of the biggest cosmetic retailer at Forum Mall. We ask her what she thinks of Bengaluru and she says, “I feel like a kid in a candy shop here.  My bua lives here and she keeps asking me to visit her, but everytime I come my trips have been very short. I come in the morning and leave the same day. It’s a lovely city which has a lot of open spaces. I’ve promised my bua and cousin that next time I will spend two days with them.”

About her journey from Tollywod to Bollywood, she shares, “I was doing my engineering and started modelling and did a few TV commercials too and loved the whole process. I was doing a Telugu film Nenokkadine and after a few scenes were shot, I got a call from Sajid sir’s office to meet them. I took a screen test with Tiger Shroff and signed up for Heropanti the same day. I loved my bratty and muhfat character of Dimpy. And then came Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale. I’m a huge Shah Rukh fan and was apprehensive to act in the same film with him, but I started admiring SRK even more after working with him. He’s funny, chivalrous, warm and intelligent and can talk for hours. I learnt a lot from him.”
