It does seem that the deshbhakti bug has bitten Ajay Devgn, as he now has six films revolving around patriotism. Earlier, it was Akshay Kumar who had donned the war suit with films like Rustom, Airlift, Kesari and Mission Mangal, but now Ajay has back-to-back films all about Indian history and tales of the warriors.

His next announcement is a film about the recent India-China clash in the Galwan Valley.

While we reported recently that Dinesh Vijan has registered a title called Galwan Valley, Ajay has gone ahead and announced the film itself.

The actor, who was earlier seen in LOC: Kargil, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Tanhaji, Singham and Raid is making a film on the Chinese ambush in Galwan, leading to the death of 20 Indian soldiers of the 16th Bihar Regiment — including its commanding officer, Colonel Santosh Babu — and the killing of 35 Chinese soldiers along with their commander.

One may recall that Ajay had a fabulous start to 2020 with his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior conquering the box office and going on to be a huge hit. The film, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Kajol, went on to gross way above the ` 260 crore mark.

Meanwhile, Ajay will also be seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971. He plays the role of Squadron leader Vijay Karnik, who commanded a bunch of people to build an airstrip to help India win the war.

Karnik later retired as a Wing Commander. Ajay says that the film is based on the work done by those people, and how it was instrumental in turning a losing battle into a winning one. “There were 5-6 people who turned a losing battle into a winning one.

The film is about them and how they made a road or airstrip within hours to aid the Indian Air Force,” he shares.

Ajay will also be seen in SS Rajamouli’s freedom fighter drama RRR in a crucial role and in Maidaan where he plays a football coach of the Indian team, apart from essaying the eponymous role of Chanakya in Neeraj Pandey’s film.
