Noted for her discerning script choices, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has committed to another pan-Indian project. The buzz is that Madhavan is being considered for the male lead role in the film.

The pair had previously delivered a memorable performance in the 2011 surprise hit romantic comedy, Tanu Weds Manu. Their successful collaboration was revisited in 2015 with the sequel, Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

There was speculation that director Mandhiramoorthy, known for his critically acclaimed debut film Ayothi, would be at the helm of the new project, produced by Ravindhran of the Trident Arts banner.

However, Ravindhran, recognised for producing brilliant content driven Tamil flicks, while confirming his role in backing the high-budget multilingual project and Kangana’s involvement, dismissed the rumours about Mandhiramoorthy being the director.

In an exclusive conversation with DC, Ravindhran said, “This pan-Indian film is a psychological thriller and will be directed by the promising newcomer Vipin from the Malayalam industry. Vipin, a former associate of renowned filmmaker Shaji Kailash, captivated Kangana with his narration of the script in Mumbai, and she immediately agreed to take on the female lead role.”

Ravindhran said Madhavan’s involvement is yet to be confirmed. “As of now, talks are ongoing with Madhavan,” he shared. “We will move to the technical aspects only after finalising the hero. However, we are aiming for a top-notch technical team,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kangana recently completed her third Tamil film Chandramukhi 2.
