Actress Preity Zinta

The actress is in Los Angeles with her husband Gene Goodenough. Never one to complain about her circumstances Preity is making the best of the prolonged isolation.

As chirpy as ever, she says, “My husband and I have been home for 22 days now. It’s been tough, but we are staying as positive and productive as we can.”

Preity is doing what she hardly gets a chance to do otherwise  “I’m learning a lot of recipes from my mom in India. I learnt to make dosas and they turned out quite well, if I may say so myself,” she laughs.

But it’s not all food and no exercise for Preity. “I do workout with Gene at home. We are not stepping out to the gym. But we manage to do enough exercises at home to enjoy the dosas without feeling guilty,” she says.

Preity also makes sure to keep up with the news back home in India. “I end up sleeping late as I’m watching the news in India at night and during the day here in the US,” she shares, adding that she caught the Prime Minister’s light-a-candle-on-Sunday-night message.

The actress is concerned about the plight of the daily wage earners in India. “It’s a crazy time and my heart goes out to all those unfortunate people who don’t have food to eat and shelter over their heads,” she laments.

“I wish I could do something for them.” On the other hand, commending the administration and those engaged in essential services, she says, “It’s very heart-warming to see all the healthcare personnel and those working in essential services. They have shown so much courage and efficiency by being in the frontline while everyone else is sitting at home.”
