Did Mahesh Bhatt just hint at scrapping Aashiqui 3 following Alia-Sidharth break-up?
It looks like Mahesh has stopped working with stars in the new millennium.
Even as Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh battle it out to see who gets to work with Alia Bhatt first, her father Mahesh Bhatt isn’t thinking much about casting her in one of his productions.
And while there had been murmurs of Alia being cast opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Aashiqui 3, the idea was swept under the rug post their alleged break-up.
“We have a core philosophy that we don’t want to work with stars. We work with new people,” says Mahesh, taking a swipe at the still-burning topic of nepotism in Bollywood. “It isn’t an enterprise, getting our children into films. If someone feels that we should, we work with certain actors.”
Interestingly, it looks like Mahesh has stopped working with stars in the new millennium, having cast only Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan in his recent movie.
