Have the Bachchans boycotted Ae Dil Hai Mushkil?

While KJo is planning another stint with Ash, relations are discernably strained between the Bachchan parivar and Karan Johar. The reason? Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s steamy scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Says a close friend of the  family, “No one from the Bachchan family, including Abhishek, has seen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) although Karan has repeatedly invited them for screenings.”

Sources say Karan, who was until now extremely close to all the Bachchans, including Abhishek’s sister Shweta, is now getting the cold shoulder. “The family is not kicked about the intimate scenes Aishwarya has done with Ranbir, or the steamy photo-shoot she did with him after the film was complete. Ranbir’s recent interviews, where he has spoken of Aishwarya in a flirtatious tone, too, have taken its toll on the family’s equation with Karan Johar,” says the source, adding that it is no coincidence that the senior Mr Bachchan has not posted even one tweet about the film.

Karan has had the singular honour of working with all the four actors in the Bachchan family (Amitabh and Jaya in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Abhisek in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and now Aishwarya in ADHM). However, is this the end of his enduring and close ties with Bollywood’s first family?
