Three of Janhvi Kapoor’s films are stuck in various stages of production. One of her films Roohi Afzana, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma, is a horror-comedy that has been shot and is ready.
Janhvi has also done a biopic on the first female fighter pilot from the Indian Airforce Gunjan Saxena who actively participated in the Kargil War. The film titled Gunjan Saxena the Kargil Girl has been directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar and was also slated to release around this time itself.
The actress was also slated to work on the multi starrer film Takht directed by Karan Johar.
While she has worked in Dhadak and Gunjan Saxena earlier for Karan Johar, this will be the first time that she will be directed by Karan himself.
While she is happy about the first two films having been completed, she was a tad disappointed at not having started working with a stellar star cast comprising of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and uncle Anil Kapoor among others. But then her father Boney assuaged her that this is a part of the business.
“Thankfully she has a legacy. Her mother has done so many films and has so many films that are incomplete and unreleased too. Boneyji is a very senior filmmaker who has seen many ups and downs in his life and he is the right person to calm her nerves down at this juncture,” say sources.
Meanwhile, there is a buzz that one of her films may go to the OTT way depending on the time taken for films to finally release in the theatres.
