A biopic on PV Sindhu
Actor-producer Sonu Sood talks about what inspired him to make a biopic on the badminton champ
Sonu Sood has announced that he is making a biopic on Hyderabad-based Olympic medalist P.V. Sindhu, is creating headlines. Ask him what drove him to make a biopic on Sindhu and he says, “I am a fitness freak just like Sindhu. I have been planning to make a sports-based film. When I read about P.V. Sindhu (after she won the Olympic medal), I thought there couldn’t have been a better script than her journey.”
He adds, “I believe Sindhu’s is an inspirational story and I am sure it will motivate everyone to excel in their respective fields. Her journey — the way she started playing badminton, the challenges she encountered and how she emerged triumphant makes for a fabulous silver screen tale.”But is he acting in the film? “I don’t know whether I’d be part of it, although I would love to. But the final cast and crew will be decided within the next two weeks. As of now, the script is still being worked out as we are getting the facts right about the 21-year-old. I am very thrilled to produce the film,” he concludes.
