Govinda has become the theme of many a meme after his recent interview where he had claimed that James Cameron had offered his epic blockbuster Avatar to him. He even goes on to say that while he politely refused the role, it was he who suggested the title Avatar to the director.

Loud whispers about the actor’s eccentric behaviour have been doing the rounds for some years now. Intermittently, one’s heard of him acting very strangely on film sets too. In fact, he had even slapped a visitor on the sets once, who’d then gone on to slapping a court case on the actor. Most of Govinda’s friends agree he’s been in need of psychological help for a while. And now, the wildly improbable statements he’s made in his latest interview have not only unleashed an unprecedented tirade of mockery and memes against him but also raised serious doubts about his mental health once again.

“Govinda has been acting strange for a long time. It is his habit to claim that he refused this or another big offer. This negativity is following him to the boxoffice. Many distributors and exhibitors refused to touch his last film Rangeela Raja because he fought and abused them,” says one of his closest friends, who is known to have stood by Govinda for more than four decades. Incidentally, the friend goes on to make the shocking revelation that Govinda has even cut ties with him because the actor claims the friend has let him down. “Today, Govinda has no friends in the film industry and no one to help him now,” he adds.
