In Bigg Boss 20, every few days bring a new twist, argument, or controversy inside the house. These incidents rarely remain confined to the show, often influencing how audiences perceive contestants as their behaviour changes.
Apart from the relationships formed inside the house, contestants’ pasts and private lives sometimes come under the spotlight, both inside and outside the show.
This time, the focus is on Qazi Touqeer, who recently revealed how he rejected an Ekta Kapoor show in what he described as youthful silliness, only to find himself portrayed as arrogant by the media.
Qazi, who won the singing reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, shared the experience while speaking to Amrapali Dubey. He recalled how the media portrayed him following his decision to turn down the offer.
Qazi, who was just 20 at the time, revealed that he had already signed a film when Ekta Kapoor approached him with an offer. The show revolved around a rockstar, and he said he was grateful to have received the opportunity.
Recalling the incident, Qazi mentioned that Kapoor herself narrated the story to him. He admitted that he was so mesmerised by her presence that he was busy counting his rings and could not fully understand the significance of the moment.
However, because he already had another project lined up, he decided to reject the role.
Qazi later recalled how he woke up the next morning to find headlines reading, “Qazi ditched Ekta Kapoor” and “Qazi has a bigger fish to fry.”
He explained that, at the time, social media was not available to clarify his side of the story, which significantly affected his public image. As a result, he was portrayed as arrogant.
Qazi shot to fame after winning Fame Gurukul alongside Ruprekha Banerjee in 2005, earning a cash prize, a music contract, and a car. He later ventured into acting, appeared in Afghan Jalebi from Phantom, and participated in Sarkaar Ki Duniya. He has now returned to the spotlight with Bigg Boss 20.
