Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 Draws Rs 28 Crore Collections?
Reportedly, Akhanda 2 was traded for around Rs 80 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and it will need a solid theatrical run to break even.
Riding high on massive expectations, the much-hyped action entertainer Akhanda 2 has registered record-breaking collections on its opening day in the Telugu states. According to a distributor, the film collected around Rs 28 crore net on day one, including approximately Rs 8 crore from premiere shows, setting a new benchmark in Tollywood.
“Nandamuri fans thronged theatres in huge numbers, celebrating Balakrishna’s powerful screen presence and heroic moments in the film,” the distributor said. However, he also pointed out that social media trolls have been active since the release. “Negative trends are visible online, and the film will need strong word of mouth to sustain collections in the coming days,” he added.
Producers Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta have acknowledged the presence of online negativity. “We cannot deny that some negativity exists, but we are confident our big-ticket action film will continue to attract audiences and post stronger numbers in the coming days,” they stated.

Commenting on the film’s content, the distributor noted that while the film suffers from logical gaps and gravity-defying action sequences, it is holding well primarily due to Balakrishna’s charisma and commanding performance. “Balakrishna as Aghora has truly impressed the audience. Director Boyapati Sreenu could have handled the script with more restraint, but Balakrishna’s performance remains the saving grace in an otherwise loophole-ridden screenplay,” he concluded.
