Avengers Endgame Encore dominated the global box office this weekend. The superhero re-release took the top spot in cinemas worldwide. It earned $26 million in North America and $60 million internationally. Its $86 million total set the record for the highest global opening weekend for a re-released movie.

The Marvel Studios film comfortably beat major new theatrical releases. Brad Pitt's Heart of the Beast took second place with a $50 million opening. Robert Pattinson's drama Primetime placed third with $30 million. Universal's Forgotten Island brought in $20 million.

Fans online have praised the nostalgia. "It's not just about the added scenes, it's about reliving those peak Endgame moments and getting hyped, screaming with a packed crowd and feeling the nostalgia. The Encore scenes are just an added bonus," a fan wrote.

The re-release acts as a direct story bridge to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (releasing in December). It introduces new post-credits scenes and bonus footage featuring Loki, Bruce Banner, the Time Variance Authority (TVA), and Robert Downey Jr.'s new villain, Doctor Doom. These additions explain how the events of Endgame link directly to the new multiverse conflict.
