Anushka Shetty to Skip 'Ghaati' Promotions

After a long hiatus, Anushka Shetty is returning to the silver screen with her new film, Ghaati.

The movie, a joint production between UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 5, 2025.

Producer Rajeev Reddy has confirmed that Anushka Shetty will not be participating in any promotional events for the movie.

"When we started the project, we discussed all the terms," Reddy stated. "Anushka clearly informed us that she would not be attending any promotions during the time of its release. It's her personal choice, and we must respect it. She might not even attend the pre-release event for Ghaati, and I don't see it as a problem. Only an actress of Anushka Shetty's caliber could pull off the character of Sheela in Ghaati; it's hard to imagine anyone else in that role."

Reddy further added that he believes Anushka Shetty has the star power to draw audiences to theaters. "We shot the movie on the Andhra-Odisha border. When we were filming in a small village in Odisha, about 1,000 people came to see Anushka in the early morning hours. There was even a minor police charge incident—that's how much of a fan base she has."

Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has a Ganja smuggling angle. The film co-stars Vikram Prabhu, the Kollywood actor.
