Acclaimed film-maker -Anees Bazmee who is known to have delivered box office hit films -,"Welcome”, "No Entry," and lately his horror comedy film, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa-2”. chose to debut as presenter with this psychological horror film Jarann.Starring National Award-winning actor Amruta Subhash. Why did you choose Marathi film,” Jarann” as your debut Marathi film?
I have admired the honesty and the depth of Marathi Cinema. When I witnessed the narrative of Jarann, I immediately accepted the offer to be associated as the presenter of the film."
Why did you take so long to get associated with a Marathi film?
Yes, it is because of its rich heritage culture and I have known actors like Nana (Patekar) who worked with him and many other actors as well as technicians. I was attracted to their honesty. And this film is made with great honesty, so appreciating and trying to take it to distant places and as many audiences to watch the film, I decided to join hands with the makers. “Jarann’ We need to support honest narratives and meaningful films. There are a handful of people who honestly want to do good films honestly and they don’t get attracted to the monetary part as nowadays it is more of box office numbers.
What about your forthcoming film, "No Entry," who are the cast?
I have this Marathi film. Also, I’m discussing two other films. I am still working on,” No Entry” which is being produced by Boney Kapoor. We have finalized 3 actors-Varun [Dhawan]Daljeet [Dosanjh] and Arjun [Kapoor]. We are working on a blitzKrieg speed on the script. Yet. I presume it might take some time-Thoda late hoga kyunki bahut log involved Hai. [ It is gonna be time consuming as many people are involved in the film] I am directing and scripting.
Confirming about not having Salman Khan he said, “Salman Khan and the cast from the earlier franchise aren't there in this,” No Entry” franchise. All the actors in this,” No Entry” franchise are fine actors. The story line has to be intriguing. We had 3 actors in the earlier one and this one also has 3 actors.
What about the next franchise of BB?
Bhool Bhulaiyaa next franchise work is in progress. We have started work on the next Kartik [Aryan} final. The audiences have liked him a lot and we have developed a good friendship. We are very comfortable working together. When the car is driving us together why should we open its bonnet? Smiles.”
Lastly, Anees says a big ‘NO-NO’ to remakes, “When I have so many original scripts written with me. I don’t wish to make any remakes as of now. We have made many remakes from the South and they have made many of our films which have been successful. However right now I'm in no mood for a remake.” He concludes.
