Allu Arjun Begins Look Test For Atlee’s Next Film
While the film’s storyline remains tightly under wraps, industry whispers suggest it will be a high-concept action drama.
Following the thunderous success of Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), Allu Arjun is gearing up for his next big venture—this time with acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Atlee, best known for the Bollywood blockbuster Jawan (2023). Reports reveal that the actor-director duo recently conducted an elaborate look test and concept photoshoot at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios, marking the first steps of their much-anticipated pan-India film.
Insiders close to the project shared that the look test began at 1 PM on Sunday. “They experimented with multiple styles for Arjun’s character, ranging from rugged to sleek. With the Pushpa franchise, Arjun has crafted a very distinct and powerful on-screen image. Atlee, however, is looking to break away from that and showcase him in a completely fresh avatar,” a crew member disclosed. “Arjun is highly involved in every aspect of his roles, and he was hands-on throughout the shoot.”
While the film’s storyline remains tightly under wraps, industry whispers suggest it will be a high-concept action drama. Interestingly, the concept photoshoot included young talent as well—12-year-old children were seen at the studio, reportedly for an important element in the film’s look and narrative. If all goes according to plan, filming will commence by the end of June, with the title and full cast announcement expected soon.
This project marks a notable shift for Allu Arjun, who has previously collaborated mainly with Telugu directors like Sukumar, Trivikram Srinivas, and Puri Jagannadh. Teaming up with Atlee signals his growing interest in cross-industry collaborations, bridging South and Bollywood cinema for wider audiences.
