Adelaide: The first T20 between hosts Australia and MS Dhoni-led India on Tuesday turned out to be a heated one not only on the pitch but off it as well. While Virat Kohli hogged most of the limelight with his animated behaviour during Steve Smith’s dismissal, another Australian has entered the fiery arena, this time targeting Suresh Raina.

Raina was bowled in the 9th over of the Indian innings when he was on 14, but luckily survived after the umpire allowed him to get away with a very late pull out.

Bowling at the other end was Aussie all-rounder James Faulkner. After sending the first ball over the boundary, Raina was getting into his stride to face the next delivery, but suddenly pulled out as Faulkner was steaming in.

Faulkner was already in his stride and once Raina pulled out, the ball crashed into the woodwork, and was called dead, much to the disappointment of the Australians.

The matter was solved and no one seemed to be bothered about the situation until Glenn Maxwell, who is recovering back home after picking up a knee injury during the fourth ODI, started teasing Raina.

The 2014-15 Big Bash League saw Maxwell faced a similar situation when he was left red-faced after coming up with a horrible judgement, never seen by a batsman. Maxwell danced down the track to Ryan Duffield, only to then leave the ball as it smashed into the stumps.

India scampered away with a thrilling victory crushing the hosts by 37 runs. The second T20I of the three-match series begins on January 29 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
