Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh lifted their maiden title after outclassing two-time champions Baroda by 38 runs in the final of Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 domestic tournament at Wankhede stadium here on Wednesday.

The Suresh Raina-led side recorded their ninth win on the trot in the tournament.

Raina scored an unbeaten 37-ball 47 to power Uttar Pradesh to 163/7. He curbed his instincts on an indifferent pitch, hitting only two boundaries and two sixes.

Chasing a stiff target, Baroda top order batsmen Kedar Devdhar (19), Mrunal Devdhar (14), Hardik Pandya (13) and Deepak Hooda (15) couldn’t build on their sedate starts leaving too much to do for the middle-order. Baroda eventually ended the match on 125/7.
