Arrest warrant was issued in May and a second one in July last year, with extradition request made to UK authorities in Aug 2018.

Nirav Modi has been lodged at Wandsworth prison in south-west London.

The ED, they said, made request to the Swiss authorities sometime back and sent an official request under the criminal provisions of PMLA.

Modi, who is in judicial custody since March, had the automatic right to file an application in higher court without permission to appeal.
