Rupee adds to gains, up 5 paise against dollar

Dealers attributed the rupee's fall to the dollar's strength against some other currencies overseas.

Forex dealers said a higher opening in the domestic equity market and expectations of encouraging GDP data also supported the rupee.

Rupee is trading at 68.09 against the US dollar at the forex market in early trade

Rupee hovered in the range of 68.19 to 68.09 per dollar during the morning deals.

Forex dealers said that weakness in the dollar against other currencies overseas supported the rupee.

According to dealers, infrastructure sector recording a growth rate of 5 per cent in September,made the rupee stronger.

Rupee is trading at 66.93 against the US dollar at the forex market.

Forex dealers said fresh demand for the US unit and its gains against the euro and other currencies overseas pulled the rupee down
