Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore granted interim bail to Saeed and his aides - Hafiz Masood, Ameer Hamza, and Malik Zafar - until Aug 31.

The suspects were given bail on surety bonds worth Rs 5, 00,000 on Monday, as reported by the Dawn.

The verdict was announced by ATC judge Sajjad Ahmed at Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.

According to the FIR, the convicts and the victim studied in same academy in a village in Sahiwal.

Blasphemy has been a contentious issue in the country as many have called for reforms in the law to prevent its misuse.

The Mumbai case has now been transferred to the court of Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi, who was the judge in the case before Akram.

The anti-terrorism court held the hearing in the case at Adiyala Jail Rawalpindi after a "break" of over four months.

He said the proceedings of the Mumbai attack case are not making progress as ‘no further official business’ is left in the case.
