Omar Abdullah Assures Relief for Shelling Victims... ... India Returns To New Normal

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited shelling-hit areas of Uri in Baramulla district, assuring government support to rebuild homes and pledging to take up the demand for individual bunkers with the Centre. Calling the pain of the people "deeply personal", Abdullah expressed solidarity with families like that of Nargis Begum, who lost her life in the cross-border shelling. He condemned what he described as a “deliberate attempt” by Pakistan to harm civilians and said damage assessment is underway to provide immediate relief.
