Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, a 32-year-old soldier from Haryana, was among the 13 people killed in the intense Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Dinesh, who joined the Army in 2014, hailed from a village in Palwal district and is survived by his wife and two young children. His father, Daya Chand, said, "My son died while serving his motherland." The shelling on Wednesday was a retaliation following Indian missile strikes under 'Operation Sindoor,' marking one of the heaviest artillery barrages in years.
