Maharashtra rains: 1 dead by lightning, 48 rescued; Mumbai records 135 mm rain
Heavy rains lashed Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra on Monday, leaving one dead in Raigad due to a lightning strike and prompting the rescue of 48 people from flooded areas. Districts like Pune, Satara, Solapur, and Raigad were worst hit, with Baramati reporting house collapses and family evacuations. Mumbai recorded 135.4 mm rain in 24 hours, causing waterlogging, power disruptions, and wall collapses, though no injuries were reported. NDRF teams have been deployed and CM Fadnavis is monitoring the situation, as the IMD warns of more rain and storms in the next 24 hours.
