Inflow Rises at Lower Bhavani Reservoir Amid Heavy Rains

The inflow into Tamil Nadu’s Lower Bhavani Reservoir surged on Monday, reaching 15,657 cusecs due to heavy rains in Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts and discharge from the Pillur dam, officials said. The water level stood at 71.72 feet against a full capacity of 105 feet, with 11.77 tmc ft stored. Water is being released for irrigation and drinking purposes, while rains in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve were reported beneficial for wildlife.
