Telangana Pushes Housing for Poor, ₹7,430 Crore Allocated

  • ₹5 lakh assistance per house under Indiramma Illu

The Telangana government has stepped up its housing initiative with a budget allocation of ₹7,430 crore for the Housing Department.

Under the flagship Indiramma Illu, financial assistance of ₹5 lakh is being provided to eligible poor families to construct houses on their own land.

The government has sanctioned 4.5 lakh houses under the programme, ensuring distribution across all Assembly constituencies. Special priority has been given to tribal areas, with an additional 1,000 houses allocated per constituency.

The total cost of the scheme is estimated at ₹22,500 crore, of which ₹5,073.84 crore has already been spent.
