Top Leaders Across India Pay Tribute to Legendary Actor
Leaders across the political spectrum, including Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Monday condoled the death of veteran actor Dharmendra, remembering him as an icon whose legacy shaped Indian cinema for generations.

Naidu said the actor touched millions with his remarkable performances, recalling his unforgettable contribution to cinema over six decades. Reddy also expressed deep sorrow, praying for strength for the bereaved family.
Sharad Pawar remembered Dharmendra’s immense influence, highlighting his enduring portrayal of ‘Veeru’ in Sholay and the iconic water tank scene that continues to inspire political protests. He said generations of Indians were captivated by the actor’s charm, style and screen presence.
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said Dharmendra left an indelible mark on hearts across ages with his simple, natural and powerful acting, calling his passing an irreparable loss to Indian cinema.
