Pune: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday expanded its premium motorcycle lineup by introducing the much-awaited Rebel 500 cruiser bike in India priced at Rs 5.12 lakh at Gurugram showroom.

Deliveries will begin in June 2025.

It competes with the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, Super Meteor 650 and the Kawasaki Eliminator 500 in the fiercely competitive motorcycle market.

The Honda Rebel 500 is the brand’s take on a 500cc bobber, and the higher price tag is due to the Rebel being imported into the country, attracting higher duties. But still the Rebel 500 undercuts the NX500 by Rs 78,000 and its direct rival the Kawasaki Eliminator 500 by Rs 64,000.

The Honda Rebel has a classic cruiser design with a low-slung seat, high-mounted fuel tank, and wide handlebars. It has a circular headlamp and a single-pod instrument console.

The Rebel 500 is powered by the 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 45.59 BHP and 43.3 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension setup on the Rebel 500 comprises a conventional telescopic front fork and dual shock absorbers in the rear. Braking is handled by a single 296 mm disc in the front and a 240 mm disc in the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS.

“We are delighted to introduce the globally acclaimed Rebel 500 in India. This much-anticipated cruiser motorcycle has received tremendous response across international markets, and we are confident it will appeal to Indian riders as well,” said Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.

He boasted the Rebel 500 is more than just a motorcycle — it’s a statement of style, performance, and freedom with its distinctive design, punchy performance, and Honda’s trusted engineering.
