Markets Tumble: Sensex Falls 570 Points, Nifty Slips Below 25,100

Mumbai: Domestic equity markets opened flat on Thursday. However, that early momentum quickly faded as key indices reversed course and slid deep into negative territory. The downward trend was led by sharp declines in IT and banking stocks. The Nifty IT index was among the worst performers, falling over 1%.

One of the day’s biggest shocks came from the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), which plunged 23%.
BSE Sensex, now, is hovering around 82,158.61, down by 570.49 points (0.69%) while Nifty is at 25,059.55, down by 158.80 points. (0.63%)
