Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association (THKMA) conducted an Emergency General Body Meeting to discuss the recent enforcement actions relating to food safety and to create greater awareness among its members regarding compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and FSSAI regulations.
Speaking on the Occasion - Damodardas Vijaywargiya - President - The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association, Avinash Devda - Secretary The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association&Other Members of the Association said During the meeting, the Association unanimously reiterated that it is firmly against food adulteration, polishing, artificial colouring of food raw materials, misbranding, and all other unethical or illegal trade practices. The Association categorically stated that it will never support or protect any individual engaged in such activities, as they not only violate the law but also damage consumer trust and the reputation of the entire trade community.
The General Body unanimously resolved that any member found guilty by the competent authorities of indulging in food adulteration, polishing, colouring, or any other unethical food business practice shall be liable for strict disciplinary action, including termination of membership from the Association, in accordance with its constitution and rules.

The Association expressed its sincere gratitude to H-FAST, FSSAI, and the Food Safety Officers of GHMC for their continuous efforts in creating awareness among traders and safeguarding public health.
