Hyderabad:Godrej Agrovet launched a herbicide ‘Ashitaka,’ for maize. It is developed in collaboration with ISK Japan. It provides effective control over grasses and broad-leaved weeds. Weed infestation during the initial growth phases impacts maize productivity. When applied at the 2 – 4 weed leaf stage, Ashitaka offers effective weed control, the company said.

“Effective weed management during the early stages of crop growth is crucial for maize farmers to achieve better productivity. Ashitaka is a step toward providing farmers with a solution to improve yields and enhance profitability,” said Rajavelu NK, CEO, crop protection business, Godrej Agrovet.

Launched in key maize growing areas of Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to begin with, Godrej Agrovet intends to launch Ashitaka across all maize growing states in the coming months, it said.
