Hyderabad: Hyderabad continued to be one of India’s most active ride-hailing markets in 2025, emerging as one of the top five cities in the country by total Uber rides, according to Uber India’s annual data report, 'How India Ubered in 2025'.

The city featured alongside Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune as part of India’s highest-usage Uber markets, underlining Hyderabad’s growing reliance on app-based mobility for daily commuting, work travel and leisure.

The report shows that Hyderabad riders maintained strong engagement across the year, contributing to the 11.6 billion kilometres travelled on Uber across India in 2025 — a 26.5 percent increase over 2024. The data reflects Hyderabad’s expanding urban footprint, rising office travel, and a young working population that increasingly prefers on-demand transport.

Hyderabad also recorded a solid average rider rating of 4.79, placing it among the better-rated cities nationally and above the national average of 4.76. The rating reflects consistent rider behaviour and reliability, according to the platform.

Travel patterns in Hyderabad broadly mirrored national trends. Evening hours, particularly around 6 pm, remained the most popular time to book rides, while Fridays saw the highest booking volumes. November emerged as the busiest month for travel, driven by festivals, weddings and year-end movement.

While cities like Mumbai and Kolkata dominated late-night travel, Hyderabad showed balanced demand across office-hour and weekend travel, reflecting its mix of IT-driven work schedules and a growing nightlife and dining culture.

The report also highlighted growing adoption of premium and sustainable mobility options in major urban centres, including Hyderabad. Uber Black, the company’s premium offering, continued to see demand for airport transfers and corporate travel in metro cities where the service is available. Electric vehicle rides across India clocked 365 million kilometres in 2025, signalling a steady shift towards greener mobility choices that Hyderabad is increasingly part of.

Intercity travel remains another area of growth for the city. While Mumbai–Pune and Bengaluru–Mysore topped national intercity routes, Hyderabad continued to see steady demand for outstation travel, particularly during weekends and holiday periods.

Uber’s ancillary services also gained traction nationally, with Uber Shuttle attracting nearly 800,000 first-time users and Uber Courier onboarding close to three million new users in 2025. Hyderabad, with its large office-going population and dense residential clusters, remains a key market for both services.

The data reinforces Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s fastest-evolving urban mobility hubs, where daily commuting, flexible work patterns and growing consumer expectations are reshaping how people move across the city.
