Gold prices fell by Rs 646 to Rs 1,43,492 per 10 grams in futures trade on Wednesday amid weaker spot demand, tracking a decline in global gold prices.

Gold prices declined Rs 646 to Rs 1,43,492 per 10 grams in futures trade on Wednesday amid a fall in spot demand.On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contracts for December delivery traded lower by Rs 646, or 0.45 per cent, at Rs 1,43,492 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 699 lots.

Analysts attributed the decline in the precious metal's prices to weaker spot demand. Globally, gold futures declined by 0.72 per cent to USD 4,030.95 per ounce in New York.
