Bhel posts 109 per cent jump in Q1 FY2018-19 Profit

The PSU is already executing similar projects on turnkey basis for NTPC and state utilities including Gujarat State Electricity Corporation and Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company.

Hyderabad: Public sector turbine maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has posted a significant jump of 109 per cent in its profit before tax at Rs 226 crore. The profit before tax in the year ago period was Rs 108 crore.

The profit after tax has increased by 93 per cent to Rs 156 crore compared to Rs 81 crore in Q1 FY18.

The Maharatna  has recorded a turnover of Rs 5,790 crore, against Rs 5,355 crore recorded in the corresponding period last year — an increase of over eight per cent.

Major orders that the company won in the first quarter of FY2018-19 include two significant orders for emission control equipment from Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TSGENCO).
