DAZN launches India development centre in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: DAZN, an international over-the-top sports streaming service, has announced the establishment of a major technology centre of excellence (COE) in Hyderabad.

The COE is coming up on their new sprawling one lakh sq ft office at Aurobindo Galaxy in Hyderabad Knowledge City.  DAZN aims to invest Rs 200 crore on this new India development centre in Hyderabad and recruit 1,000 people by December this year.  

Having started operations around five months ago, the company already has over 350 people working here. The headcount will be increased to  about 2,500 by December next year. It will focus on sports streaming technologies.

The additional technical capability that it provides will accelerate our development roadmap to become the ultimate sports entertainment company. I would like to thank the Government of Telangana, IT Minister KT Rama Rao and his team of officers for their steadfast support in the establishment of our development centre,” said Shay Segev, chief executive officer, DAZN Group.  

“The emergence of sophisticated streaming technologies, innovations with AI, computer vision, augmented reality, virtual reality, and wearable technology has the potential to bring live sports to fans in a way they have never experienced before. The amazing technical talent pool in Hyderabad and more broadly across India will help DAZN deliver high quality streaming and amazing fan engagement,” said Sandeep Tiku, chief technology officer, DAZN Group.
