Vodafone dials up 6.3 billion-euro annual net loss

London: British mobile phone giant Vodafone revealed Tuesday that annual net losses worsened to 6.3 billion euros ($6.9 billion) on the back of a vast write down at its troubled Indian division.

Vodafone's performance in the 12 months to March was hit by a 3.7-billion-euro impairment at the Indian unit and compared with a net loss of 5.4 billion euros in the previous financial year, it said in a statement.
