Hyderabad: Bike-sharing Uber Moto will provide last mile connectivity to Hyderabad Metro Rail for citizens who opt for affordable transportation for short distances.

The UberMoto service will start from January 2017. It will cost Rs 20 for the first three kilometres and Rs 5 per kilometre thereafter. These feeder services have been designed for shorter distances that people have to travel.

The bike taxi which comprises Scooty and motorbikes will have a uniformed driver which can be booked via the smartphone Uber app. Details of the drivers will be available in a few minutes and the driver has to ensure a convenient and reliable ride for the people. Presently, there are only male drivers in the bike taxi but Uber states that they are open to recruiting female drivers also.

The product was flagged off by Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao along with Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Uber, Travis Kalanick  who rode the bike for a first-hand experience.
