Renault Kiger Facelift.
New Delhi: Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the French carmaker Renault Group, today announced the launch of the New Kiger, developed under the rethink performance philosophy. The sub-four metre SUV is powered by a refined 100 PS turbocharged engine and has more than 35 enhancements.
The New Kiger comes with bolder design, smarter technology, enhanced safety integration and it is available in a thoughtfully curated range of trims. The fully loaded Turbo variants of Kiger - Techno and Emotion are priced between Rs 9.99 Lakh and Rs 11.29 Lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated engine variants are available between Rs 6.29 Lakh and Rs 9.14 Lakh (ex-showroom)
The New Kiger features a bold front fascia with Renault’s new brand identity, a squared-off stance, and extended chin and rear skid graphics.
The launch also debuts an exclusive new colour—Oasis Yellow, a vibrant shade with special mica treatment that enhances its visual impact. It is paired with a reflective black grille, metallic grey skid plate, sporty alloy wheels, dual-tone roof, and distinctive graphic elements.
The car is available in seven attractive colour palettes, including two new additions — Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey — alongside existing options: Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, and Stealth Black.
The car comes with a spacious cabin layout with better rear kneeroom, interior storage space, front couple distance and class leading boot space. The car also offers three distinct driving modes — Eco, Normal, and Sport — designed to adapt to varying drivetrain needs and customer preferences.
Performance
The New Kiger’s Turbocharged Engine produces maximum power of 100 PS and up to 160 Nm of torque, while ensuring impressive fuel efficiency of 20.38 kmpl (as per ARAI). For customers who seek an even more accessible choice, the New Kiger is also available with a refined naturally aspirated engine, delivering maximum power of 72 PS and up to 96 Nm of torque, along with a fuel efficiency of 19.83 kmpl (as per ARAI).
Additionally, Renault India has improved the driving dynamics of Kiger through Mirror Bore Coating technology, used commonly in racing cars, which reduces friction inside the engine cylinder, thus improves fuel economy, offers more power, and improves engine durability. The compact SUV provides a best-in-segment torque-to-weight ratio, enabling swift acceleration.
The New Kiger offers a range of versatile transmission options to suit every driving style — the standard 5-speed manual for those who love control, the convenient Easy-R AMT for effortless city commutes, and the advanced X-Tronic CVT for smooth and refined performance. What sets the CVT apart is its exclusive D-Step technology, which eliminates the typical ‘rubber-band effect’ by introducing step-like changes in engine speed. This not only enhances responsiveness and delivers the natural sensation of gear shifts during strong acceleration but also augments drive experience.
Comfort & technology
The New Kiger is backed by ventilated front seats, and light leatherette seat upholstery. The refined cabin includes rear AC vents, enhanced airflow that keeps the cabin cooler, and improved ride quietness for passenger comfort.
The compact SUV now features a multi-view camera system, offering real-time visibility from multiple angles. Added features such as automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers ensure stress-free driving experience.
With a 20.32 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrates seamlessly with smartphones, the New Kiger boasts of 3D ARKAMYS surround sound with 6 speakers offers an immersive audio experience. Added practical touches, including a cooled glove box, multiple USB charging points, and the ‘Belongings Take Away’ alert.
Safety
It now offers 6 airbags, including front, side, and curtain airbags, part of the total 21 standard safety features across all variants. These include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), 3-point seat belts for every seat, and ISOFIX child seat anchorage. Built on the robust CMFA+ platform, the Kiger’s body structure is engineered for optimal impact protection. Features like tyre pressure monitoring and pedestrian protection, add layers of proactive safety.
While the next-generation Kiger is available with retrofitted CNG in manual transmission, both engines are E20 fuel-ready.
