Tata Nexon EV hits 50,000-unit sales milestone

PUNE: Tata Motors, India’s biggest automaker by revenues, has said it has achieved a new sales milestone of its popular model Nexon EV which crossed the 50,000-unit mark in three years since its launch in 2020.

The Nexon EV contributes upto 15 per cent of the total Nexon brand sales and is available in Prime, Max, and #Dark variants, with prices starting from Rs 14.49 lakh.

The company claimed that as per the sales trend, many young buyers are opting for the Nexon EV.

The Nexon EV is available in over 500 cities across India. Nexon EV owners are said to cover distances of up to 1,500 km at a stretch during long trips. On average, owners drive around 6.3 million km in a month on intercity and outstation trips ranging from 100 to 400 km.

The Nexon EV has been the most popular electric model in Tata's EV portfolio. The crossover uses a 127 BHP electric motor that is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack. It is said to offer an ARAI-certified range of 312 km (MIDC cycle).

The Nexon EV Max comes with a 40.5 kWh battery pack, which powers an electric motor with an output of 141 BHP and 250 Nm. It has an ARAI-certified range of 453 km on a single charge.

The Nexon EV supports multiple charging options - 3.3 kW AC charging, 7.2 kW AC fast charging, and is compatible with DC fast charging.
